A diagnosis of a learning or intellectual disability
Independence in self-care skills: toileting, feeding
Ability to communicate either verbally or through an AAC device
No major behavioural challenges that will disrupt or interfere with work
Upon meeting the criteria for enrolment, each prospective trainee will undergo an assessment by an EmployAble trainer. If the prospective trainee is successful after the assessment's evaluation, he or she will begin a 6 months probation period.
Yes, non-verbal trainees who meet the criteria above, are able to communicate effectively with an AAC device and pass the assessment will be eligible for EmployAble's training program.
EmployAble's programs are aimed particularly at pre-employment training for gainful and sustainable employment.
Our program runs from Tuesday to Saturday, with both part-time and full-time programs. Please get in touch with us to get more information.
Pre-employment training will be conducted in our centre in Ritze Perdana Business Centre, Damansara Perdana. On-the-job trainings are held at various locations, dependent on our partner companies.
Under our Sheltered Employment program, these are the areas:
packing/packaging
event set-up (manpower)
clerical work
Under our Inclusive Independent Employment, jobs are dependent on trainee's interests and strengths.
Apprenticeship will be matched closely with trainee's interests with job coach support. Permanent employment however, cannot be guaranteed.
